Have you ever seen an image and was instantly transported to another space in time physically or emotionally? When I looked over these images I created in South Africa, I was instantly taken back to the soundtrack of my youth, recalling songs like Zhané’s "Sending My Love," Janet Jackson’s “Love Will Never Do (Without You),” Michael Jackson’s “In the Closet” and many Sade songs including "Never As Good As The First Time.” I recall the minimalistic narratives that evoked glamour, grace, and beauty while conveying joy, hope, wonder, and understated power.
